Smoking. We ask that you do not smoke in the apartment.

Pets. We do not accept pets, even though we have our own we will not allow them into the apartment.

Horses We may consider stabling and grazing horses by negotiation. All care, feeding, cleaning and mucking out of animals is the responsibility of the owner. We also have space for garaging horse boxes. A portable electric fence for horses will need to be provided by the owner. An additional cost of £20 or 30 Euros per week or part thereof will be charged per horse.

Arrival and Departure. The start of your gîte holiday is Saturday. You are not usually expected to arrive until 4 p.m. on your first day. You are also expected to vacate the gîte by 10 a.m. on your last day. This is to give us time to check for and replace breakages and to fully clean and prepare the gîte in all respects, for the new holiday makers. Any change to these timings will need to be discussed and agreed with us beforehand.

Booking Deposit. We require a deposit of 25% at the time of booking. After payment of the deposit we will send you a booking reservation. After payment in full we will send you a booking confirmation. If a deposit has been paid then payment in full is required at least eight weeks before the arrival date. If payment in full is not received at least eight weeks before the arrival date we will assume you have cancelled the booking and you will lose your deposit. You will need your booking confirmation before planning (and paying for) costly travel arrangements, so the earlier you start the process the better.

Cancellation Terms

If your booking is cancelled the charge will be:

The above may seem harsh, but don't forget, we may have turned down several other bookings for the same dates and we are trying to make a living, which we can't do if we are unable to rent out the apartment because someone books it and then doesn't pay! We may, however, in special circumstances, reimburse you if we manage to re-let the weeks you have cancelled.

Breakage Deposit. We expect normal wear and tear and mishaps like broken glasses and the odd plate. Normally, we are philosophical about this. Carelessness is one thing, but deliberate damage is another, however, and we have experienced extensive damage in the past. We ask for a breakage deposit cheque for the sum of 300 Euros (£200). Your breakage deposit cheque will be returned, if there is no damage, once we have been able to inspect the property. Please make the breakage deposit cheque separate from the rental cheque.

Cleaning Deposit. We ask also for a cleaning deposit. You are expected to leave the property in a clean state, in fact in the manner that you found it. We know most of you do... out of a sense of pride. There are some that do not. We expect a certain amount of cleaning and know how long it should take to be ready for the next holidaymakers. If there is excessive cleaning to do, this will incur a longer turnaround and, subsequently added expense. We ask for a small additional cleaning deposit of 75 Euros (£50) to cover this eventuality. Again, this will only be cashed if necessary and you should receive this back once the property has been inspected and all is pronounced well.

If you do not want to face having to clean your gîte yourself on the last morning, you may wish to have the gîte cleaned for you after you leave at a cost of 45 Euros (£30) which should be included in the rental cheque. Please ensure that this requirement is made clear to us on the booking form.

Electricity and Water. The cost for these utilities is included in the gîte rental.

Bed Linen, Pillow Cases and Pillows. We will normally provide these unless you prefer to bring your own. The rental and cleaning of bed linen and pillow cases is included in the cost of the rental. Bed linen and pillow cases are replaced once weekly (Saturday a.m.). Please make it clear on the booking form if you intend to bring your own bed linen and/or pillow cases/pillows.

Bath, Hand and Tea Towels. We can provide rental towels at the following weekly rates

All towels are washed and replaced twice weekly ( Wednesday a.m. and Saturday a.m.)

Additional towels may be requested at any time.

Exceptional damage to towelling and bedding may be reclaimed from the breakage deposit.

Methods of Payment

Cheques. These should be British bank or building society cheques and made payable to Gordon Williamson, signed and dated with the date the booking was made NOT the date of your holiday please! If you are paying using a Euro cheque, please make it payable to M. ou Mme. Williamson and once again signed and dated with the date when the booking was made. Cheques should be received at least 8 weeks before your holiday starts.

Bank Transfer. You may want to transfer the sterling or Euro equivalent amount direct to our bank. We can provide you with the necessary information. This can be a relatively painless way to pay, if you are set up for personal telephone banking or online banking.

Credit cards. Unfortunately we are not yet able to accept credit cards

Longer term rental and out of season lets. We are happy to accept longer term rentals, particularly out of season (late autumn, early spring or winter) lets. Prices are negotiable and will include the cost of providing electricity and water.

Acceptance of conditions. It will be deemed that you have agreed to the booking conditions on receipt of your booking request and deposit.
